The Aquanaut Suite — the Gatsby Lounge — sits on the third floor of the Turffontein grandstand with an excellent view across the racetrack. Designed for luxury, the room pairs rich green elements with plush pink Gatsby-inspired décor, and opens onto its own private deck for chanting your favourites home. Ideal for corporate events, private parties and race day entertaining, the suite comes equipped with AV capabilities, bar and tote facilities, onsite catering and complimentary parking for guests.
The room is named for one of South Africa’s greatest stayers, the mighty Aquanaut, who won two renewals of the Gold Bowl, enjoyed a second career as a Turffontein lead horse, and is buried in the Champions Graveyard at the infield of Turffontein Racecourse — alongside three other famous track stars: Caradoc, Furious and Beau Art.
